Count on Equinix’s data center expertise and operational reliability to uphold your service commitments and business reputation. Our world-class facilities are designed, built and operated to meet the highest standards worldwide.
High uptime with N+1 power backup
Our data centers provide global average uptime of >99.999%. That means each Equinix data center typically experiences outages totaling less than 5 minutes and 15 seconds over the course of a year. To ensure electricity is always available, our IBX® facilities provide a minimum of N+1 power redundancy, meaning every mission-critical component has at least one backup power feed that kicks in when there’s an outage. We also store enough fuel on site to provide 24 to 48 hours of emergency power using backup generators, and we have guaranteed fuel delivery contracts to replenish those supplies. We also provide at least N+1 redundancy for cooling all major equipment. Many IBX facilities offer N+2 redundancy.
World-class physical security
We use advanced security equipment, techniques and procedures to control and monitor access to our data centers. Reaching the colocation floor typically requires passing through five security checkpoints that include manned security stations, mantraps and biometric readers.

Diverse network redundancy options
More than 1,000+ networks are connected to our data centers, giving customers numerous ways to create diverse network routes and ensure service resilience and redundancy. Also, in many cases, Equinix has installed redundant fiber lines to connect buildings within our data center campuses and in metro areas.
