EQUINIX CARRIER ETHERNET EXCHANGE

The Equinix Carrier Ethernet Exchange is the world’s first global Private Layer 2 Ethernet Exchange. It builds on the core value of Ethernet services, namely scalability, cost and reliability. The service is offered within our carrier-neutral IBX data centers and provides customers a many-to-many External Network-to-Network (ENNI) platform to interact with other Ethernet service providers. Equinix delivers a unique ENNI with full Ethernet service transparency and translation. We enable customers to extend their networks and monetize their Carrier Ethernet Networks.

The solution is focused on removing the complex and time consuming challenges of establishing multiple, separate interconnection agreements among carriers. Equinix successfully completed a development program which included beta trial technology testing as well as collaborative interaction with trial participants. We have used customer feedback to define our service and the accompanying tool set under development.
