451 Research - Equinix Buys 13 Data Centers from Bell Canada, Expands in 7 Cities

With the acquisition of 13 new data centers for $750 million from Bell Canada, Equinix has extended its presence in seven new cities and expanded its roster of enterprise clients. According to 451 Research, part of S&P Global Market Intelligence, the announcement places Equinix in the position to offer a coast to coast multicloud interconnection platform, and will situate Equinix as an 'edge' supplier for public cloud providers looking to deploy in markets outside of Toronto and Montreal. Equinix and Bell will also work in partnership to help enterprises benefit from hybrid/multicloud implementations.
