Power
Equinix IBX centers are specifically designed to provide a robust power infrastructure with the highest level of reliability. Our centers provide a minimum N+1 redundancy for every IBX power system, delivering more than 99.9999% uptime availability to our customers.
Our Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems prevent power spikes, surges and brownouts while redundant backup diesel generators provide additional fuel to keep the data center powered up in the event that public utility fails. The entire electrical system has built-in redundancy to guarantee continuous operation.
Equinix sells AC or DC power in configurations of amperage or voltage. Configurations may also be available on a custom basis.
Monitoring Support
Using proprietary automated telemetric systems, our IBX Engineering Team can monitor all power system components from within the IBX or even from a remote location. This allows them respond to any situation or threat quickly.

- Batteries with at least 7 minutes full load operation (diesel engine generators take roughly 8 seconds to synchronize and assume load)*
- 48 hours worth of generator fuel and contracts with multiple fuel providers.

- 80 degrees Centigrade rise; copper winding, DC system fuse protection; -48 volt delivery via fuse panels.
