Tokyo is a strategic market for Equinix due to the region's access to bandwidth cable systems and is regarded as the dominant market in respect to emerging wireless Internet access technology and networks in Asia.
Equinix operates two Tokyo IBX centers, one in Heiwajima and one in Shinagawa. Both are accessible via major roads and public transportation. They also serve as a major peering and Internet exchange point for the Asia region through the Equinix Exchange service. Foreign enterprises, networks, Internet content companies, and multinational corporations leverage the reliability of infrastructure and access to networks that Equinix provides.
